RaiderHawk Media is an independent media company that specializes in mobile application development, podcasting, live streaming, and social media marketing. RaiderHawk Media was founded by two siblings, Ilyse Pender and Louis Schanz. Our name is inspired by our founders’ high school mascots: Ilyse is a former North Farmington Raider; Louis is a former Harrison Hawk.
About Ilyse Pender
I am the “Raider” of RaiderHawk Media. I am responsible for our company’s technical decisions, product design and engineering, as well as our finances and governance.
Before co-founding RaiderHawk, I held technical, marketing, and strategy roles across enterprise software, consumer products, and EdTech for both startups and Fortune 500 companies. My education includes a BS in Computer Science from University of Michigan, a MS in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University, and an MBA from Berkeley Haas.
Throughout my career, I’ve been known for my commitment to quality, customer focus, and collaborative nature. I excel the most when I can combine my curiosity, resourcefulness, technical and analytical skills, and creativity.
I’m also a leader in both my Toastmasters club and my local Berkeley Haas Alumni chapter. When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy photography, international travel, music, weight lifting, and following the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines.
About Louis Schanz
I am the “Hawk” of RaiderHawk Media. My core responsibilities focus on our company’s marketing decisions, social media planning, implementation, and monitoring strategies along with customer service management.
Before co-founding RaiderHawk, I gained solid transferable skills while working in marketing, sales, and customer success roles for both startups and Fortune 500 companies. I earned my General Business Associates and AAS in Sales and Marketing along with my CCL Gen Bus, CCL Marketing, and CCL Social Media Marketing from Phoenix College.
I am an admin/moderator for a vastly expanding fan club for one of my all time favorite bands, and also have been a commissioner for highly successful fantasy sports leagues for over 20 years. Also for over 20 years I have blogged on an assortment of message boards mainly focusing on two immense passions of mine which are sports and music. I have also contributed to a wide array of websites with hard-hitting editorials, “Lou’s Views”, fantasy sports analysis and rankings, along with moderating sports message boards. Plus, I have an ample twitter following. Outside of work, I enjoy attending concerts, podcasting, live streaming, and following all the Arizona/Phoenix professional sports teams.
